Close Knit Chain Screens provide a greater level of protection from insects, more privacy and have a different look to standard screens. There are 100 strands per metre in close knit screens compared to 78 strands per metre in standard ones. We use the same high quality anodised chain sourced from Europe with special links to provide a tighter knit which is 22% more dense than a standard chain screen. As our chain screens are made from anodised aluminium they do not rust and can be fitted internally or externally.

When measuring for a door or window chain fly screen, take the opening size and add 2cm (0.75") to the width so the screen overlaps the frame, and add 5cm (2") to the height to account for the hanging rail. The finished size of the screen supplied will be the size requested including the hanging rail. The links are 24mm in length so screens will be +/- 12mm.

The brackets that can be purchased separately are 35mm in depth and you need an additional 15mm (50mm in total) clearance above the door/window so that the hanging rail can be hooked over the top. The brackets are supplied with screws to fit to PVC, wooden and metal frames. Ceiling Brackets are also available. Matching coloured screw caps are also provided along with simple installation instructions. We supply all chain products with 3 wood screws and 3 self-tapping screws if brackets arent purchased - these can be used to hang the chain rail. We recommend a pair of brackets for each 1m width.
